    Prawn Mee
    Mee Udang or Prawn Noodle is very famous in Penang. One can easily find it at Malay hawker stalls near seaside, where the prawns are fresh from the sea.
  • Penang Heritage Centre
    Penang Heritage Centre
    The Heritage Centre, Penang is the site of a successfully completed pilot restoration project for the conservation and rehabilitation of Penang's historic Acheen Street - Armenian Street cultural heritage enclave. Penang Heritage Centre was initially housed in the Syed Alatas Mansion, which today houses the Penang Islamic Museum. In August 2002, it was moved next door, to the corner lot between Carnavon Street and Armenian Street. This building once housed the clinic of Dr Ong Huck Chye, who was also a Municipal Commissioner during the 1930's.

    Penang Bridge is a dual carriageway toll bridge connects Gelugor on the island of Penang and Seberang Prai on the mainland of Malaysia on the Malay Peninsula. It was officially opened to traffic on September 14, 1985. The total length of the bridge is 13.5 km (8.4 miles), making it the longest bridge in Malaysia as and the fourth-longest in Southeast Asia.

    Laksa is amongst the best known and loved of hawker fare in Penang. A bowl of steamed spaghetti-sized rice vermicelli is first generously garnished with finely sliced vegetables including onions, cucumber, red chillis, pineapple, lettuce, mint and pink bunga kantan (ginger buds). Onto the mixture is poured a steaming hot curry soup that is sour and thick with fish meat. A spoonful of fish paste is provided for those who favour the addition. While for decades, Penangites and visitors only knew this variety, a lemak (coconut milk) version was subsequently introduced as an alternative.

    The Kek Lok Si Temple (Temple of Supreme Bliss) is a Buddhist temple situated in Air Itam in Penang and is one of the best known temples on the island. It is the largest Buddhist temple in Southeast Asia.

    Komtar Tower is Penang's tallest building and the sixth tallest building in Malaysia located in the heart of George Town, dominating the island's skyline. Komtar was still Malaysia's tallest building for 3 years before it was surpassed by Menara Maybank in Kuala Lumpur in 1988.

The 2012 IEEE Symposium on Computers & Informatics will be held in Penang, Malaysia from 18 - 20 March 2012. The conference will be organized to invite international delegates, to share their latest research findings besides getting to know Malaysia.  ISCI 2012 will be  sponsored by  the IEEE Malaysia Computer Chapter and  IEEE  Malaysia Power Electronics, Industrial Electronics & Industrial Applications Joint Chapter. It will also be co-organized by the Research Management Institute, Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences & Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA.

The Proceedings of ISCI 2012 will be included in the IEEE Xplore database and will normally be indexed in SCOPUS
